Itineraries

Rialto: the economical heart of Venice.

The Rialto Bridge was for centuries the only bridge across the Grand Canal.

At its footsteps the richest marked in Europe used to flourish with imported goods, as well as with local products. Stepping back in time, walking around the area we can imagine the particular shops, the different kinds of merchandise, the merchants themselves (like Marco Polo, Alvise da Mosto…) “strutting and fretting their hour” in the market…
Then getting back to the present time, looking at the fish market and at the stalls full of seasonal fruits and vegetables, we can enter the smell, the colours, the sounds and voices of a market that is quite lively still nowadays.

Time: 2 hours

Notes: no entrance to any museum of church is contemplated during this tour. The fare for groups has to be agreed with the guide.
