The Glass Ark. Animals in the Pierre Rosenberg collection
From April 26th to November 1st, 2021
You can see
giraffes, bears, crabs, spiders, parrots, snakes, whales and many other animals during a visit at
Le Stanze del Vetro on
St. Giorgio Island that, after lots of postponements (the opening was foreseen last March 22nd), the inauguration of the stunning exhibit
The Glass Ark. Animals in the Pierre Rosenberg collection took place and opened to the public.
It shows
more than 750 animals made of Murano glass which are part of the personal collection of the Director of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
It’s a
different and original exhibition focused on the
history producing animals in Murano glass of 1900.
Some works of art were made by famous glass masters and artists, others were carried out by less known glass factories, all of them were created using
different techniques.
It’s a joyful exhibit, suitable both for adults and kids; it’s a full immersion into bright and transparent colors which opens the doors of the Glass Ark to the visitors who become part of the exhibition itself.
Enjoy your visit, we are waiting for you in Venice,
Ciao!
