Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca’ d’Oro it is now possible to admire, up to October 30th, the exhibit on the Venetian sculpture of the period between the years
1450 and 1600.The works of art in this exhibit come both from the permanent collection of the Ca’ d’Oro as well as
from private collections and other public museums. They testify about the
different materials used for sculptures in that period, the different techniques and also the cultural influences that would come from outside Venice.
Masterpieces by
Donatello,
Sansovino,
Vittoria, il Riccio, the
Lombardos make this exhibit really interesting and somehow
dynamic.
All of them display the interest
for the classical works of art of ancient times. The precious
Carrara marble is carved in an exquisite and detailed way, and the result is always an elegant sculpture.
We will be waiting for you for a
guided tour of the Ca’ d’Oro to admire the wonderful pieces on the first floor, the great works of art of the permanent collection and
this wonderful palazzo along the Grand Canal as a whole!
