Venice, restorations at the Accademia Galleries: St Chiara’s Polyptych
October 4th, 2024
After a long restoration, St Chiara’s Polyptych by the medieval painter
Paolo Veneziano has come back to the
Accademia Galleries in Venice.
It is displayed in one of the rooms of the
Palladian corridor, alone, so that it
can be admired without any distraction. After the restoration, supervised by
Save Venice,
brilliant enchanting colors have appeared…
The analyses that preceded the restauration were conducted using non-invasive methods, such as
X-rays, reflectography, ultraviolet fluorescence: the best of scientific research and technology is applied to the investigation of such works of art in order to obtain as much information as possible,
avoiding any damage to the masterpieces.
Come and
visit the Accademia Galleries with us: we will admire together this marvelous polyptych, its details, its restored beauty.
We’ll be waiting for you!
